what i think and what i do
My goal with this website is to remind you that you are in possession of the most magical piece of technology you have ever encountered. “Technology that is sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic.” If that is true, then any magic that is sufficiently explainable is merely advanced technology.
Our brains are more beautiful and advanced than any of us will be able to understand in this lifetime. Our brain waves have been able to be detected at ranges of 3 feet from our brain. We are capable of creating neuroplastic changes that have led to spontaneous remission of illnesses and injuries. It’s allowed paraplegics to stand up or catch a ball after years of paralysis. It is why it’s become known as “the science of hope.”
Within this site it is my hope to not just show you how to use your brain differently, it’s to remind you that your brain can do more than you have ever dreamed of, it just needs to be shown how. Eye sight can be improved to 20/5 vision (20/20 should not be our goal.) The taste buds of the world’s top wine somaliers can taste varieties of grapes from countries and seasons all in the same sip. Our fingertips can feel a single strand of hair underneath several pages of phone books. Expert musicians can hear and distinguish tones and beats all occurring at breakneck speeds. The best chef’s in the world can smell when an herb has been brushed over a cut of meat before it was cooked. Mirror neurons make us flinch when we see another get injured. And beyond our five senses, our brains are capable of connecting us people in ways that we cannot explain. Crowds of people come together and sing a song or keep a beat at a packed concert of thousands of people, and in those moments we forget that we are separate. We look up at a shooting star or the lights of the aurora borealis and we are reminded that we are just a small speck in the vastness of our universe. Our brains connect us in ways that can only be felt but not explained, not just to each other but also to everything around us.
My wish is that even just one thing on this site reminds you of your own power. My wish is that you remember how good it is to surprise yourself. And my wish is that you become amazed with yourself. In today’s age we constantly are reminded how amazing other people are, but never ourselves. Your brain is like a ferrari sitting in the garage of your skull. I’m here to give you the keys. What you do with it, is up to you.

The good ole fashioned blood, sweat, and tears of the weight room. Training smart is important, but once we have intelligently chosen exercises and programming, we have to train hard without breaking ourselves down more than necessary. Train for you goal, and train hard the right way. We can only train as hard as we can recover from.
VISION + BALANCE
POSTURE + GAIT
NERVE MAINTENANCE
No matter what your goal is, improving eye movement efficiency and balance will help. These two are foundational for our brain when it comes to navigating our environment, and they come first in our brain’s feeding pattern. That means no matter what your goal is, whether it’s lifting 600lbs or running a faster 40 yd dash, if you’re brain doesn’t trust your eyes to see properly it’s like running with the emergency brake on. Likewise, if our brain doesn’t trust us not to fall, why would it want us to do something physically challenging. Learn how to train and improve both of these and watch your health and performance go to a new level.
Although these are simple, they both have a lot of neurological implications. Correcting these consciously can also be an uphill battle. Fixing your gait and posture has to be more than “think about standing up straighter” or “don’t let your foot look outward so much.” All of these things come from higher up inhibitions or lack thereof, and the amount of sympathetic tone isn’t an easy fix. Correct these at a neurological level. Let your brain and spinal cord let you move as you should.
Nerves are illusive to many of us. We may have felt the unfortunate pang of nerve issues at some point. Anything “tingly, burning, shooting, radiating, or buzzing” is a nerve. Here we can learn how to ease nerve discomfort and use nerves to our advantage to feel better, increase strength, and move effortlessly.
BREATHWORK
I don’t like saying someone is breathing “wrong.” If you are still alive and reading this, you can’t be breathing that “wrong.” But several people do breathe inefficiently. We can use breathwork in many ways. It can be a meditation, it can be exercise, and it can be used to change your mental state. Understanding how and why your breath is powerful can help us control various aspects of our body from heart rate to blood pressure to stress.
FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION
Never has there been so much information available and so much confusion at once. At this point, it seems like just about everything CAN work, but what is the best for YOU? Nutrition should be personal. From caloric balance, to macros, to nutrient considerations, it needs to suit you. If you have gut issues, overgrowths, or allergies, it needs to be taken into consideration. If you have inflammation, anemia, or an autoimmune issue, it can’t be ignored. Let’s look at nutrition from all angles, not just one.
TRAUMA
We have all had it. From physical to emotional to mental. All of these can contribute to our body’s perception of the world around us. Ignoring the way our brain “feels” about something is ignoring a crucial piece of the puzzle. This piece is interwoven into all the other aspects of healing.
LYMPHATICS
EXERCISE BIOMECHANICS
STRENGTH + CONDITIONING
We have three times as much lymph as we do blood, and you probably have never even heard of it. It bathes our brain, covers our organs, and sits under our skin. It innervates every part of our body, and it’s like our internal sewage system. Where we have poor flowing lymph, we see issues. Learn how to move it around and restore your body from the inside out.
Are the exercises you’re doing working the way you think they are? Is the body part you’re trying to train actually getting trained? It’s crucial that we understand where muscles are strongest and weakest and if the movements we’ve picked align with this. With this we can dive into resistance profiles and strength curves of movements in relation to you and adjust your body position and angles to make the most out of your exercises.
